Un-sealed (de-sealed) windows and what to do !!!

Subject discussed in the past and everyone seemed to recommed

RV Window Experts for RV Window Repair

Well, I have been in contact with them since September for fixing 2 windows on my 2006 DSDP and it has not been easy !! and have confidence...........

They have a shop in St Pet now and do flooring work (???).....they seem to have difficulty in the timing of the 2 windo fix.
Today I e-mailed Newmar and got the numbers of my 2 windows and e-mailed them to North Trail RV iin Fort Myers (new windows)........

What would you do and is there a big cost $$$ difference - I rather have new windows installed by NT RV than a shop I do not know !

Tough call. I had 4 NEW windows fail after 18-36 months. So when I see phrases such as "5 year warranty" it's a hot button.

Also: www.suncoastdesigners.com is a similar sounding name to Sun Coast Windows. Are you sure you contacted the intended?

Here are the window folks:

http://www.suncoastdesigners.com/

They are in Hudson, FL which is NW of Tampa/St Pete. They do great work and do have a 5 year warranty. They have 8 or 10 50 amp hook ups & welcome you to stay over night when they repair your windows. No problem with staying in the coach while they work. You should call & get an appointment as they stay very busy.

We had a large 3 window assemble and a small single window done in mid '09 and they are still fine.

Since I am at Lazydays Campground, I went to the Service Dept - they charge $275+Tx+? for a small cockpit window - Told them I could replace with a new one or close to, for that price from Newmar - I got figures for both windows from Newmar
$324 and $308 for new ones - so I am thinking of doing this at North Trail instead of driving around Florida to find a cheap shop or get the $$$ treatment from Lazydays..................

Thanks Lug_Nut

I had read your article which informs the reader on Hudson's facility, the process but does not share the difference in price of doing a refurbish or putting new windows - As my comment stated, by Lazydays's service dept, not much difference between Newmar's replacement costs and their asking of $275+Tx etc for small windows work (quality I do not know - 1 year warranty only) - will inform the readers on my experience as we go on - awaiting more info from Newmar - North Trail has also been contacted and are waiting for the right numbers of the 2 windows

Cost wise I think it was around $250 or so a window (Essex has wet seal type) for the side coach windows, including the big one and $275 for the driver big one. Their warranty is 10 prorated. They did a great job and with plug in, they make it sealed and livable while the shop work is done. In my case that was several days.

I checked with Newmar about replacements, 9 month warranty. With the Essex, Newmar has had problems with the windows since 2007. Hehr has had know issues with their windows. We had the big driver window replaced twice under warranty on our 2004 Essex. With suncoast being cheaper and a better warranty it was an easy decision.

Renden did those prices include removal and installation?
