Unexpected Surprise

My wife and I are currently motor homeless, but hope to remedy that in about five years when we get our first Newmar DP. We've been on a car touring vacation for the last 2.5 weeks in S. Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. Yesterday we stopped at Wall, SD to see what all the hype was about Wall Drug and pulled up next to a 2014 Dutch Star 4369, needless to say I had RV lust!!! We went and walked around Wall Drug (the Disneyland of SD), and upon returning to the van I saw the DSDP owner loading some items into their basement. I complemented him on his beautiful coach and we started chatting about Newmar coaches. Come to found out we were chatting with Dick Parks, CEO and chairman of the board of Newmar. Dick was amazingly gracious and offered to let us tour the inside, even putting the jacks down and extending the slides. What perfect gentleman!!!! Needless to say I fell asleep thinking about the coach and had sweet dreams too! I must be an RV geek to count this experience up there with all the wildlife and amazing landscapes and natural features we've seen in the last couple of weeks.

You now have the disease called "RV Lust"! At present there is no known cure for it but they are working on it, although I don't know why.

Just kick back and let it overwhelm your soul.

BTW, you are afflicted with the highest state of this disease, DP! Many luckier souls go through the Popup, Hardtop, 5whl, and finally class C before being afflicted with the more advanced DP stage.

RV lust (especially Newmar) can be cured without guild of conscience. Go ahead, indulge yourself sooner than later. You won't be sorry.

The misses and I skipped the gateway drugs (tents, van conversion, class C) and went straight to our drug of choice, an Entegra. We're a little ways out but it was "Go Big or Go Home" for us. So to all of you working your way to the top, it's over rated. Just get the bug and go big.

Glad you had the experience you had with the Newmar rep. Although we don't have a DP we still own a Newmar product and trust me you won't be disappointed in their quality. Hope you really don't have to wait 5 years but if you do, enjoy the experience whenever it may happen.

We're on our second DSDP, and looking (kind of) at a third. Nothing wrong with the first DSDP other than we wanted more slides (from two to three)
Nothing wrong with the present one either, just want more slides (from three to four), a little longer (from 41' to 43') and bigger refer (8 cf to 20+ cf)

Talking 1999 Newmar Dutchstar

Best motor home out of the three we had. The others were all newer, but Newmar is by far the best built of all.

One thing we've learned on the forums is the value of buying our third MH first. We've also learned from all you good folks why our first one will be a Newmar.

There are far worse things than this affliction right?

Thx
