I have learned just a little more. The light does not come on for two or three seconds when you first start the engine. There is a noise, might even be a "drag down" of the engine for that time period, then the light flickers once or twice, then stays on steady for the rest of the time the engine is running. I thought it might be connected to the tag axel, which has an air suspension system, but there are two switches, a light and an air gauge for that system. I also tried turning the air pump off and dumping the air, but that light stayed on.

I understand that there is a brake booster run from the power steering pump, I wonder if that light is telling me that the brake system is at full boost?? Just one idea, nobody seems to know for sure.

The Answer

Here is a reply I got when I sent more detailed information to Newmar, I am going to go with this answer as it is the only one that makes any sense at all:

Good morning Mr. xxxxxxxx,

It sounds like you are describing the light for the isolator relay. The isolator relay separates the house batteries from the chassis batteries. It is controlled by the bi-directional relay delay, that opens and closes the isolator relay based on charging needs. The light will come on when isolator relay is engaged. We only installed those lights for a couple years and then did away with them, as they really serve no purpose. Hope this answers your question.

Thank you,
Jeff Johnson
