Update on Bay Star broken door latch

Couldn't find my original post about being locked out of our Bay Star this summer and wanted to update those interested as to what the cause was. These are the notes from the tech performing the work;

CAUSE: nylock nut on internal linkage assembly inside of lockset fell off.
CORRECTION: remove lock set. recover nyloc nut down inside of door. reinstall nyloc nut onto linkage rod. reinstall door lock assembly. set travel distance on lock rod and reinstall access plate. reinstall striker bolt that customer removed. set adjustment on striker bolt.

I find it hard to believe a nylock nut worked itself loose unless it wasn't tightened in the first place. I also think the best method of preventing the issue of being locked out from happening again is to unlatch the passenger window.

When we are traveling, I leave the driver window unlocked. If needed, I can hop on a ladder and get inside .
