It is also interesting that they hit you up for a deductible, but covered the whole bill for me. I wonder what the difference was between our two situations.

I think many of us would like to know which Freightliner facility you used. I would question the quality of their diagnostics since they apparently missed it the first time.
It IS interesting that it happened to both of us. Read about another gentleman with an older Ventana that had the same problem with the same solution. Wonder if it's only Ventanas? BTW, how is yours working now?

Our Ventana was 6 1/2 months past the two year cutoff for no deductible. I think your coach is slightly newer than ours.

I mentioned your problem and suggested they look at the fan clutch. They ran the diagnostics on our coach the first time but the clutch fan checked out fine. It was after the second replacement of thermostat and heat sensor that they checked the fan clutch again. This time they replaced it. I haven't had the opportunity to talk to the techs yet but I would like to know how they finally decided that the culprit was the fan clutch.

I'll hold off on the name of the facility and give them the benefit of the doubt to this point. I may change my mind if we can't get it home because of overheating; or worse yet, can't get to Florida in two months for the winter.

The final (fingers crossed) update on the overheating issue.

We picked the motorhome up this morning and drove it the 30+ miles home up the interstate, no hills. The engine temp stayed between 190 and 194 degrees. Looks like it might be fixed.

Total out-of-pocket costs were less than $140.

Our baby purred all the way home. That's telling me that it wants to get on the road again! Only eight more weeks!

Congratulations that's good news!! Did they positively identify the root cause? Was it the fan clutch or the second set of thermostat and sensors?

Excellent news!! I know the feeling! I had to have all my radiators flushed in Salt Lake City, then drove 2400 miles to Boston watching the temp gauge never move. Glad to hear your problem's solved.
