Updating Entertainment Systems in 2000 Dutch Star

A couple photos of my work today on getting rid of the boat-anchor tv's in my 2000 Dutch Star.

Three of the photos show replacing the tv at the front of the coach. A 30" tv fits perfect between the side cabinets. But try finding a 30" tv!! I did manage to find a 29" tv at Target.

I also replaced the VHS player with a DVD player. I connected the DVD player directly to the TV with a HDMI cable. Behind the old TV I did find some RCA speaker wires so as I play the DVD I'm able to direct the sound from the TV to the speakers in the coach. But as I was wrapping things up tonight, I tried the roof antenna and for some reason it would display fine on the TV but the sound would only go through the TV when the RCA wires were unplugged and not through the coach speakers when the RCA wires were plugged in so gotta scratch my head on that one.

The second picture shows the new TV in the back bedroom. I left the old swinging bracket that the old TV sat on and added to it a bracket to mount the new TV to it. I did not find any RCA speaker wires there, but that's OKAY. The TV I installed also has a built-in DVD player. Typically I prefer my DVD players not built-in to my TVs, but this one had fallen in my lap so why not.

Next up soon is replacing the TV in the basement. That will be at least a day in itself as it'll involve rebuilding that area.

I see your front flat screen with a slide mount, gives you access to the front cabinets one at a time like mine. I'm looking into removing the drivers side and rotating the front plate on that one 180, so the TV doesn't have to move so often, speaker would be directly behind the TV but I hardly ever use the radio, so not an issue. The TV mount I used was rated for over 100lbs and has a lock bar, that slides in from the side and once in place the TV can't come off the mount no matter how big the bump.
DVR, has an RF remote so controls work fine installed in the old TV's hole.
Now to clean up the BOMB area so it looks as good as yours.
EDIT: Sorry , I mistook you for another member, who posted pictures photos of his bomb area, and on re-reading I see you stuck with a 29" where I mounted a 32" that requires sliding side to side to clear the doors.

I stayed away from the 32" as I didn't want to move the tv to open the cabinet doors. Besides, my mount doesn't permit the tv to be easily moved so that's why I hunted for a 29-30" tv.

I do like the fact that I still have some access to the cubby behind the tv. I set my remotes in there.
