Spectacular!!!
May I ask why you stayed at 12v ?
And not go 24v or higher bank?
I'm nowhere near what you have and still I almost did go 24v !!
Great install

Thanks for sharing !

Very interesting install. Has given me some ideas when I convert from AGM to Lithium Ion batteries

12KW generator? Make?

I stayed at 12v for simplicity. If I went to 24v I probably would have just jumped to 48v since I have 4 12v batteries. I just thought it would get a bit complicated jumping up the voltage and then getting it back down.

12.5kw generator and I'm sure you can guess the make. Here is the sine wave, even after the 1000 hour $2,500 tune up including new brushes, new end bell, new rotor bearings, and a new belt. Not quite pure sine wave as one would think it should be. One guy suggested the coils may be filled in with particles and may need to be cleaned. I would have figured the rebuild mechanic would have inspected it so I am now at a loss as to why not a pure sine wave.

I've been in the PNW so really do not have a chance to see how the solar system does in a more normal situation where it is warmer and has more sun.

They worked flawlessly charging the batteries at 240 amps (120x2) on shoreline power but the second inverter did not like the power from my generator. I even had the generator rebuilt by a factory service center yet the sine wave remained rough and not totally pure which is why the second inverter rejected the input from it. Because of the large bank of batteries I really needed the high current charging so AMSolar installed 2 additional 60 amp Victron chargers to augment the 120 amp inverter charger that was working while on generator power to bring me back to 240 amps. It would have been simpler to install a single Victron 5000 watt Quattro inverter/charger but their power assist mode (hybrid) is 19amp minimum which would kill it being used on a standard 15amp outlet.
.

I've a single Multi running on one leg of our 50 amp shore power. It is more than enough 120VAC power for our needs but there will be a need for more charge (2nd Multi) amperage when we go to lithium.

If I understand right your 2nd Multi would not charge when on gen power? Do you know if they tried to swap the units i.e. the 2nd Multi became the master and the 1st Multi became the slave?

Also wondering about the cost of adding 2 Skylla vs. adding a 3rd Multi as a 120A charger?

Yes they swapped the multis. Adding a 3rd multi probably would not work since the second did not. 2 Skyllas cost about the same as a single 3kw multi.

What a great post! I purchased an 07 Essex 4508 during the same timeframe and have been hard at mods that fit us. Could you share any and all information about your HDMI cable installation? How did you go about it? Iíve resorted to using wireless HDMI but would love to replace this throughout the coach with hard wires. Awesome renovations!

I wanted a new and larger 4k TV so I needed to upgrade the cabling. I was able to squeeze in a 43" Sony TV where the original 32" was without any modification of the overhead cabinet. It looks factory installed as it is a perfect fit and even looks better than the factory TV did in that space.

My entertainment system is in mid coach over the refrigerator. The installers were able to fish the HDMI cables by pulling every light down and using the holes to jump from one to the next. They also went down the back of the adjacent cupboard to get to the basement, from where they ran HDMI cables to my computer desk, to the rear bedroom and to the outside TV compartment. The slides were tricky because they need to be run in the collapsing arm following the factory electric wires.

I also had them install a 7.2 surround system with the 8" Yamaha speakers in the ceiling and abandoned to front factory box speakers in the OHC. I also replaced the factory subwoofer under the sink with an SVS 1000 non ported subwoofer. A few months later SVS had a Ĺ price sale on the SVS 2000 non ported subwoofer which was less than I paid for the SVS 1000. I swapped the two of them and then moved the SVS 1000 up front just behind the drives seat to balance out the low frequencies. The upfront SVS 1000 is fed by an over the air transmitter. The only thing I have to do is move the SVS 1000 when I pack up to travel.

Thanks ... I thought you were referring to a mid-TV (near the reefer).

4X4 You're going to have quit insulting us owners with poor wiring with all those beautiful wiring images of your coach! LOL

Congrats again with your installation!
