US 31 South from Nappanee

Has anyone recently traveled US 31 between Nappanee and Indy?

Some months ago there was a lot of construction just before reaching
I - 465, is it still torn up or have they completed it?

We are at camp Newmar and will be heading South the middle of next week.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

We were at a rally in Goshen last week. Prior to the rally some had posted that 31 should be avoided at all costs... not specifically for construction but that the road was just in BAD condition. We took alternate route 33 from Goshen through Fort Wayne, thence east to Columbus. If you need to route through Indy not sure if it would be worth the extra miles

Alternate route south would be Indiana 13, but not sure it would be worth the extra miles. US 31 has pretty much been the route from North Central Indiana to Indianapolis. It does have heavy truck traffic, probably the reason for it's bad condition.

Thanks for your inputs. I have traveled 31 a number of times and much of it is new and very good 4 lane. In fact yesterday we traveled the northern portion from 24 north and it was excellent. In Apr we were going south on 31 and hit the construction, just want to avoid it again if necessary.

We just came north on 31 from Indy to Newmar 1 1/2 weeks ago. Lots of construction / single lane portions. I'd avoid it if I were you.
