Has anybody put a vent cover on their rear bath fan with a raised roof? Have you had any issues with it? When we bought the coach we had them put covers on all three vents but they warned us that the back cover would stick up higher than the rest.

When raised, it is approx 4" above the rail. The roof cover would make it approx 3" above the rail. Here are some pictures I took.

That's the way mine works. The MaxxAir stops the vent lid slightly lower than full extension. The vent has a current limiter that stops the motor when the lid hits an object.

We had the coach parked in front of the house about a week ago and due to the crest in the road it made me worried as it looked like the whole cover rose above the side rails. I got the drone out yesterday to take pictures of the roof as we are getting ready to have solar put up there at the end of the month. I didn't look as bad as I thought on the cover height after seeing the pics.

We initially asked that MaxxAir vent covers be installed over all vents. After being informed that the vent cover on the rear vent would stick up above the level of the side rails (making the coach taller that the already tall 13'2"), we opted to not have that one installed.

We are considering retrofitting the rear vent fan with a MaxxAir Deluxe fan unit that has an integral rain cover and sits low enough to not protrude above the side rails.

I would be interested in knowing how that works if you do it. I am sure it would be better than what I am doing now.

I just looked those up. I wished I had that on all three vents after seeing it. The low profile is great.

I too have looked at that fan, and it is how I plan to proceed. The only concern I had was how it would work with the KIB.

That's my concern as well. I think there are ways to do it; just have to figure out the details.

I was wondering the same. Although it is just an on/off switch it seems. It doesn't control any speed. At least if it turns it on you could use the provided remote then to adjust speeds I assume and not have to remove the cover.

I bought the Fantastic Fan vent covers and installed them on the front two vents, but not the bath. I typically install the vents for two primary uses. First, I like to open the front ones when the coach is parked at home to let the hot air escape during the summer months. Second, I like to have one or two running on really hot travel days when I have to run both the roof and dash air. Obviously, they're used for venting the coach when it's not hot enough for A/C use.

Since the bath vent only gets used as an occasional whole house fan or when were showering, it wasn't a big deal if it didn't have a vent cover. I didn't want the look or the height of that vent above the facades.

I did mine in white this time. I will eventually pull off both A/C covers and paint them white, making everything on the roof white. Need all the cooling I can get with just two A/C's.

I installed the Maxxair fan. It’s a lot quieter the only down side is I have to use a remote now. Easy install

was your fan previously controlled by the KIB switch? I believe 2018 was.

Did you try to retain any of the functions? I want to know all the details!!!!

We put vent covers on all 3 vents on our 18 LA. Have traveled 11K miles and still on and no marks that it hit anything. Also cut the rain sensor wire on all 3 since we have covers on vents now. Found in the rear bath the mist from the shower was enough to shut the vent cover with and without cover on. On the LA we do have speed control on all 3 vents. There is a nice wood vent cover that matches the wood in the coach which I think restricts air flow some plus the outside vent cover. Do use covers between vent and ceiling either in very cold or hot weather.
