Video Control Unit

I'm looking at updating my audio/video system in my 2000 dsdp. Does anyone know if someone makes a remote controlled video control unit. I'm trying to go to one remote for everything and not have to push the buttons on the video control box. Wingard says they don't know of any

If you're really updating the system, get rid of that kind of control unit totally. Go to HDMI cables and an HDMI matrix switch or 2 zone A/V receiver.

The RF distribution system you have can only do mediocre SD at best.

HDMI is the preferred cable/connection type for High Definition (HD) video/audio. It's what you get from HD satellite receivers and Blu-Ray players, etc. Standard Definition (SD) is the old-style TV resolution, what you get from DVD players and VCRs (more or less).

My point is, if you're going to "upgrade" the video system in an RV, you're usually talking about HD TVs and new HD capable source devices (Blu-Ray, HD satellite, etc). If you're doing that, the best thing is to junk all the old stuff and do it right.

Oh yeah - RF is Radio Frequency, and it's what you get from the coax output of a VCR (and maybe a DVD player) that goes into the old-style video control unit, and comes out at the TV on channel 3 or 4. Mediocre SD resolution at best.

This is the unit Newmar installed in our 2007
River Park, Inc. National Distributor of Mobile Audio Products

It is HD capable, only via component cables, not digital HDMI.

If you are looking for full digital. Then look at something like this Amazon.com: IOGEAR 5x2 HDMI Matrix Switch with Remote GHDMIMS52 (Black): Electronics

The question: Do they make a remote video control center

The answer: Yes, however I do not know who makes it.
