Vinyl flooring

hello. we have a 2004 country star 3904 and we are very interested in replacing the old flooring / carpeting with allure vinyl planks. the only real concern I have, ( I think ) is the slides. there are 2 slides in question, the kitchen and the sofa. I have looked into the flooring and I am sure the allure is about 1/8" thicker. this may create a problem with the slides. has anyone out there done this job?

Here is a thread in QT's # 3 in the redo section with other floor redo's.
The slide rollers will follow the new floor thickness and adjust to that.
The rug and rug pad would be higher than a vinyl floor.
There is a wood floor that is thicker in same section that you may get tips from also.

Read the manufacture's label before you decide on Allure. It's not recommended for extremes in temperature. There are folks on here who have used Allure and it worked fine, and there are others who used it and wished they hadn't. I started to use it and then decided not to.
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f258/repl...ch-208561.html is my story.
Ernie Ekberg does this for a living and recommends against Allure. He advises using a glue-in product like Adura (I think).
As always, YMMV.

well I looked a little closer into the situation and found the floor is made up of a 5/8" thick plywood then about 3/8" of laminate, ( pressed wood under linoleum ). by the looks of it I can take off the pressed wood and linoleum then install the new allure. we live in the rig so it never gets too cold to wary about cracking. I did send an email to Newmar. I am still doing research.
thanks guys.

I had the carpet replaced with vinyl while at the factory several years ago. I had a couple of tile samples picked out , but when I saw what they were installing in some of the new Motor homes at the time I opted to go with Newmar supplied 18" vinyl tile installed in a diamond pattern. Had it done in the winter at reduced rates and while still not cheap it was money well spent. We love it.
