Talking Walk-Through of the 2016 King Aire

We got such a good response to our Bay Star walk through that we thought we'd go big and do one for the 2016 King Aire. Since this isn't our coach, we weren't able to go through the detail it would take to cover everything in this MH - we were told the customer walk-throughs of the various systems can take up to 3 hours!

This is an amazing coach but WAY more than we would probably ever need. Hope you enjoy the video!

Great video. Is this the 4519 floor plan? Windows behind couch were huge. As we like a lot of natural light in a coach, this is important to us. Apparently Newmar eliminated the storage above the couch and dining table to allow for the large windows.

We were at the FMCA show in Perry GA on Friday (excellent show, by the way. The number of seminars was impressive. This was our first FMCA show. Way to go FMCA) and we happened to ask Ken Williamson from Newmar about the windows in the MA and how we liked large windows and wished they were bigger. We mentioned that this was what impressed us so much with the Newell coach we saw at the Tampa show in January.

Ken explained that there are two window sizes in the living areas (I never noticed this before because from the inside you can't tell due to the valences. I went outside to look and sure enough there were). A large one that can be removed in case the refrigerator needed to be taken out (he explained that this was so the windshield wouldn't have to be removed to do that) and the other one. He said that the smaller one could be made the same size as the larger one and the cabinets reconfigured like the large one to take advantage of the larger window (losing some storage area in the process).

We are in the education phase of preparing to purchase our first RV to go full time no less (we had already decided it would be a Newmar and this only affirmed the decision) and we were so impressed that Newmar was willing to make these changes. We were also impressed with Ken's knowledge.

We then asked Ken whether they could put a window behind the bed in the MA. He said he didn't see why not and if we said that we wouldn't buy without it being installed, they would probably do it. He didn't commit 100%, but was certain enough that it Would be done (we asked this same question to Michelle Howard at the Tampa show and she said she thought it may be a design feature only available on the KA and Essex).

While we had been in a KA before, your video was very helpful to us as seeing those large living area windows that we decided to eliminate the storage cabinets to get the full effect of the windows. It is amazing that no matter how many times we see different coaches, in person or in a picture or video, we see something that we didn't see before.

John - good eyes, yes this was the 4519 and we were overwhelmed by the number of features. We still like our "little" Bay Star 2903, but like you, we wished we had more windows on the passenger side. If you want to be impressed by windows, check out the Prevosts or Newells - but then you're in a totally different category of coach.

There's a post describing the specials members had added to their Essex and those windows behind the bed I believe was one of those changes.

We asked about, essentially, getting the KA bedroom layout in our London Aire and the request was denied, as were a few others that would have drawn from the Essex or KA. There's only so far they'll go in crossing brands.

Not that you shouldn't try.
