Wall Leak

Just discoved a leak where the cord that powers the auto patio awning passes the outside wall. Rain water was running down the cord and finding its way into the wall. Ive removed all the silicone and wondering if there is a better way to seal this than with silicone?

Newmar uses silicone and Dicor lap sealant.

They typically use clear silicone where it's visible on painted units, but the Dicor non-self leveling lap sealant would work if it's not visible.

See if you can use a rubber grommet around wire than silicone.
If you have enough slack make a drip loop before entrance into hole.

On Newmar's the silicone is used only to keep the real sealant from weathering.
