Wall slide will not deploy

Well, figures it would happen on a holiday weekend Bay Star 3124
We have checked everything we can think of
Newmar had no really good ideas bad controller board
The slide uses a special 20 amp fuse
It has like a metal cap over it so can not see if the fuse is bad
Any ideas

Will be seeing if the Newmar dealer where we are heading can fix it on Tuesday

Oh well, we are still enjoying ourselves

Try turning off all power to the coach we had to do that to a friend coach once and it worked like rebooting a computer

Do you know where the control board is, try unplugging the power plug on it and also the multiple wired plug and see if it works after plugging back on board.

Something to check out...

I think that I read or heard somewhere that if you have 2 slides in your Bay Star, then you can move the cable from the suspected bad control board to the other working control board. The working control board should allow moving the slide.

This only works if the problem is in the control board. If the problem is in the wiring, motor or other sensors, then the slide will still not work.

I would not do this without having a knowledgeable tech telling you what to do. I have not done it personally, but it is something to check out.

Good luck.

Jerry

Hi FapInJax,
Yep, swap the control card with another one. Lacking that, a meter and determine where power is being lost is the next step. An example is do you have poser into a component (like the control card) and no power out? The control card would be suspect. No power into the control card eliminates the control card from suspicion.

Did you try adjust the power limit on the slide controller. They can vibrate enough out of adjustment where the slide will not move. A slight adjustment is all that is needed if that is the problem. Our slide controllers are in the bay just in front of the passenger side rear tires, mounted on the wall of the bay. This happened to us and all it was, was the minor adjustment and it has never done it again. Good Luck

Yes, I have done done this in my Ventana. If the 2 controllers are next to each other, and one of the slides works, all you have to do is switch the 2 pin motor plug and use the good slide switch inside the coach.
