Wanted
Wanted a Newmar that fits the following needs for around 100K - what would you suggest?
We eventually would like transition to full time - on the road for Jesus ministry - We have two dogs - one Jack Russell and one Border Collie Golden mix - needs to be roomy - opposing slides in living room works best
- Initially would use on weekends and one or two trips a year - might want to start with a shorter coach and trade up to full time
- Would like sleep room for family on trips - total of 4 adults and 1-2 grand kids - not a must have as they could sleep in tents
- Need low cost of ownership - 500 - 700 per month - we have 10K to pay down.
- We have a mini cooper that we may want to tow but if we get a short enough coach the need to do that may be less.
- Need good closets in bedroom and pantry in kitchen plus good counter space and dish storage space
- Microwave with convection oven rather than a stove oven
- We need to sleep at least 4 -5 adults and possibly 2 grand kids - but not every
- trip - so bunks are nice but not a must have.
- Need good storage for clothes and pantry items.
- We like lots of windows - so we will get lots of light in the coach. However,
- an issue with that is cold weather camping, which also means we need heated
- tanks etc.

First, is the problem with the money, $90,000.00 at 4%(if you can get that) for 10 years is $911.21 per month, doubt if you could get anyone to go 15-20 years on a used Coach, but if you could......15 years-$665.72, 20 years-$545.38 and the 20 year loan is where you would need to be so you could fuel it and repair it.

Thanks for the tip on try money side - most helpful - dealers have been giving me payment estimates that seem lower interest than that since they have quoted around 700 for over 100K MHs. Of course, things might be different when you start talking to the finance people.
I am very interested in suggestions for Newmar coaches that might work for us -- expect folks on this forum are way more able to sort out the good and bad based on our list. I don't want to go very old so expect DPs are out of the question.
So been looking at gas models.

I agree on the money situation. Finding a motorhome loan on anything older than ten years will be difficult though there are a few who will. However, the interest rate will be tweaked upward. Also, you'll probably wind up relying on a dealership to secure it. And, don't be surprised if the downpayment isn't a bit more.
Now, you can find good coaches in the 2005 arena that could fit your need and be less than $90K. Look at the archived Newmar brochures for a model that would have two couches opposing each other (again, a bit rare but possible in a 40-foot layout).
If you want to ultimately go fulltime, go ahead and bit the bullet to get what will work. Otherwise, get into a much cheaper coach for a couple of years, sell it, then get what you want since you will have learned a few things.
Also, I'd suggest a diesel pusher for fulltiming with the number of adults and dogs you mention. You're going to need the hauling ability of a diesel that a gas unit won't begin to touch.

Your looking at a coach possibly of this type and maybe a toy hauler. This is sold.
Here is one and how it looks inside.
