Does anyone else have a problem with and solution for those plastic clips that hold the sliding wardrobe doors closed? Mine keep breaking and seems like the last time I bought 4-5 they were a little less than $5 each. Has anyone found a more reliable substitute?

Look and see if these are the ones you have. Fits my slider door in back and all the drawers. Mine break when she has so many clothes they stick out and she tries to slam it shut. Next life, I'm coming back Gay.

When I bought my latest Dutch Star I removed the latches. I put glass handles from an Essex on the sliding mirrors. Thanks to Jeannie in Newmar parts for that idea. In the bottom tracks I drilled small holes and drop pins in the holes when we travel so the mirrors don't move. I glued a strip of felt on the sides of the doors so they don't bang when we travel. We have been traaveling this way 6 1/2 years and love the setup.

Got the metal ones from Newmar. They sent them to me free. The plastic ones kept breaking. The new metal ones are an easy replacement. They catch the metal frame of the glass door and are spring loaded. That will solve your problem as it did on my 04 Dutch Star.

Both mine broke some years ago, have never bothered to replace them as the doors never move while traveling and we leave them open for the cats to go back there.

I bought metal spring loaded "clips" from a Home Depot / Lowe's in the cabinet replacement parts section. What is with Newmar's love of cheap plastic fittings instead of metal? e.g. the handles on the emergency exit window, all the window latches, the low point drain valve handle (which just broke today), and the list goes on and on!!!!!
