Water Fill Valve Replacement
My water fill valve will no longer turn using the plastic handle, as it has rounded out. The valve will still turn using a wrench. Oh, and the handle is not available separately, and the new version of the valve has a metal handle, that surprise surprise on not compatible to the old valve.
My question is, I know the valve is installed in a 3 sided box that is mounted to the back of the wet bay. Is replacing that valve something that someone reasonably handy should be able to, or is it going to require special tools, or the triple jointed arm of a contortionist?
Your insight is appreciated

The plastic handle on our valve rounded off several years ago and even then, they didn't have a replacement handle as you found out. I went to Home Depot and found a valve with the same size shaft that had a metal handle, I bought valve, took off the handle and installed it on the coach valve. Save me from having to replace the valve and associated piping just for the handle.

Sorry, I don't remember and the valve is back at home sitting in a pile of "stuff" . It'll be a few months before I get back, so you'll get a chance to explore the plumbing dept at HD !
Just went outside and looked at the handle--- it has a red cover on it and says Pro-Line and has the number 28xe19 and a few other #'s like 150wsp 600wog and r850lf

It ain’t pretty, but it works. A doner handle from a 3/4 inch ball valve, some grinding, and judicious amounts of JB Weld and it fits. I had to use a couple nuts and washers as spacers. I’m not sure how long it will hold up, but looking at the backside of the box that valve is installed in, it is a major project to replace that valve. Tight quarters, PEX lines and crimped band clamps, make my jury rig look even better.
