Water filter canisters

Looking to install a dual canister water filter system for the entire coach. Anybody done this? Where is it mounted? Pictures?

I plan on mounting it in the water bay. There is real estate to mount it, but the panel is really thin and would need reinforcing behind. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Coach is 2001 MA.
Thanks,
Jim

Water filter canisters

Hi, Jim..... I installed a dual canister on my '02 DS. I have one filter for odor/taste, another for particulate. As part of the install I also put in a filter bypass with PVC and hose fittings I had around. In winter weather I also install my pressure regulator inside the bay, in the intake line on the right.

The thin plastic backer board is mounted to horizontal aluminum stock top and bottom. Rather than try to disassemble and strengthen, I just constructed a new backer of 3/8 ply, including a vertical side piece to define the separation between the potable water section and the waste/utility section. I painted it all with white epoxy, mounted it directly over the existing plastic, and applied my own lettering. I know that doesn't create any sort of biological barrier, but I think it looks better, and makes me feel better about it.Click image for larger version

That looks great. Is that a vent? My MA has a hose reel so the fresh water connections are behind the panel. I would need to figure that.

Here is a discussion on water filter systems and here is the result.
These links are found in QT's # 3.

I presume you're asking about that PVC assembly that cocks at 45*. No, not a vent. When I first worked this up in my head I thought it would be useful to have a manual input port, to add bleach to the main tank for sanitizing, etc. As I was installing, I realized that 1) my input was too low to effectively add anything to the main water tank (without first totally draining the tank), and 2) it would be far easier to add bleach by simply adding it to an empty filter canister and just opening the tank-fill valve. So that part of the assembly is not applicable; one of these days I'll get around to removing it.

Jim, you could just come off the rt. side of the reel...the discharge side. Unthread the fitting and add whatever you want.
