Water filter install inline fridge water line

I am getting ready to install an inline water filter on the water line that feeds our fridge icemaker/water supply. The feed is a 1/2 inch white waterline typical of all RV water lines. Is this line PEX or compatible with PEX so that I can use 'sharkbite' connectors? There is a shutoff valve on this line in the location where I wish to put this filter in a basement compartment near and under the fridge. I will install it downstream from this valve on this cold water line by cutting the line and putting in two elbows with 3/8 in standard faucet compression ends where I will attach flex/stainless braided lines to and from the filter cartridge. I am using the following canister/cartridge. Aquaversa - Inline

Thanks TED

Wow! Why spend that kind of money when you could put an RO system in it's place? That's what I'm going to do soon as I return back to Texas.

Yes that is a high price. For 30 bucks I installed this below my refrigerator (very easy to do). It filters the water to the icemaker and water dispenser in the door. I am pleased with the results.

If you look back you might see that my question did not ask about filtering options. I thoroughly researched filter choices including RO systems. I decided right or wrong that I would try the choice I made. I am trying to make Arizona water palitable to my wife who is currently making me haul bottles of water for your drinking and cooking and ice making. The salty alkaline taste is the issue. RO is a large bulky complex system compared to a single inline filter. Yes my choice was costly.
PS. We Tried a Zero water system from Walmart that worked great but required a new $30 filter once a week (about 10 gallons)!! Back it went. This filter in question uses a $30 filter but claims it works for 750 gallons or one year which I can handle.

Sorry Ted,
Just trying to help ya'

I use the blue filter from Wally World on the hose. The filter I described on my post ( good for five years) additionally filters the water we drink, cook with, and make ice with. I do 5 months in SW Arizona each year. I don't haul bottles anymore so I wanted to share what works for me.

Inexpensive filters work well everywhere but Arizona. There water is horrible. When we go to Quartzsite, we only drink the water from our tank.
