water from ceiling

we have a DS 2017 4369 and just had water come pouring out of the inner ceiling light by the door. It happened when I lowered the jacks and the coach was leaning forward...it was 40 degrees outside.
I pulled the light and found that the wires running past the light were wet but these are under the cap and we have never had an issue before even with a lot more rain. The Sirius/XM antenna and the GPS are mounted on the cap but seemed to be well caulked .

Anyone else have this problem?
Bill

Have you checked and resealed the roof every six months as Newmar requires?
Another entry point is the heat pump seal to the roof.

not sure what you mean by re-seal the roof every 6 months....never heard of that nor seen that requirement....just came form the factory where they did all the annual items. The roof is one piece fiberglass...not the rubber roof.
All the nearby caulking looks solid

We have had that happen twice, each time after heavy rain. I think tech said we had a plug drain or vent pipe on roof. They blew it out and no more problems

The checking the sealant every 6 mo was in my '02 DSDP's owners manual. Doesn't matter what type of roof the rig has, they all have the same roof openings.

Mr D no similar requirement in the 2017 DS manual. Only says to check for cracks if you are cleaning the roof or corner drains.

I would check the roof caulking every 6-12 months not replace. Would read that part of manual again. The caulking material is much better than that! I know some people never check their roof caulking until it rots, then they wonder why it leaks.

Do you have a Winegard OTA antenna? They are notorious for leaking through the seal on the coax cable. Then the water follows the coax to a low point where it drips. There have been several reported issues of leaks through a light fixture near the front, myself included.

Another location to check is the AC bottom pans to see if all drain holes are clear for drainage, if pans fill with water because of plugged holes the AC FANs will blow the water into your ceiling duck system and possible into the ceiling areas to eventually find light fixture and drip on floor.

Scotty, did you have to replace the entire antenna? If not, what did you do to fix?

I replaced the whole thing because it had issues anyway. However, I found a parts list and have bought a few parts on Amazon.

Ditto on the antenna. We had N trail replace our batwing with a Razar at delivery. Next heavy rain I saw a little water on the passenger seat. Went up on the roof and the block off plate that they used to cover the original mounting wasn't sealed correctly. Pulled the plate and resealed. No problem since.

On the roof in each corner are drains that are there take that water off the roof...the drains are connected to tubes that drain the water to the ground in each corner...these drains have screens over the cups that are connected to the tubes and they will fill with leaves, pine straw and acorns,etc...have to be cleaned out from time to time....the screens will pull off and can clean out the cups and then either use water or air to make sure the tubes are clear to the bottom...Chuck
I've had water run down the sides of the coach after I bring up the jacks, but never inside
