When I removed the Plug/Anode from the water heater to drain for winterizing, The anode is corroded. Should I get a new one????or Do I even need the anode???

Do I even need the anode??? No if you don't mind your water tank looking like the rod.

I went to Camping World, each time I replaced my anode. They didn't have one out on display, only a universal short hollow one to make it easier to drain water out of the hot water tank.
I had to go to the service desk and ask for the regular replacement anode. They store them in the back, for some reason.
