Water hose reel
Who likes them?
Who doesn't?
And why?

Love it, especially when storing a hose in the rain, loose grass and mud. One finger on the switch and hose sliding through a large rag as it stows.

Keeps the hose tucked away nice on the reel. Take less space to store 50 ft of hose on a reel vs the manual method.

2x Pigman
Mine came with the Essex but I LOVE it. I just wish it held more hose than 50 feet. Seems like I keep finding CGs where the water is 60 feet away. :-((

Thanks for the opinions. I will put that down as a yes when it's time to order.

Mine came with a 150 psi rated hose and reel. This made it so I could put my Watts regulator in the water bay after the cord reel and not worry about blowing up my hose.

Don, is the standard issue Newmar installed hose rated for 150 psi or did you special order that? I put my Watts regulator on the park water fixture but there is the potential for a $100 oversight at some point in the future!

In 55+ years of RV'ing I've never had a hose break from high pressure. Worn out from using them, yes but not blow out. Guess I've been lucky so far.

Don,
Do you happen to know the model/size of your Watts regulator?

I bought my water regulator here RV Water Filter Store: Standard Filter Canisters for Whole RV
I bought the $89.95 regulator (263A model with gauge).
The water hose reel on my coach is the standard model that came with it. If you look at it, it's rated 150 psi on the hose and reel.

While speaking of the hose reel, is there a simple way of disconnecting the hose to change it out? We ended up soaking the hose in bleach water and running the bleach water inside by pouring the water in and raising it up &down. Hose looked a bit dirty when we got the coach. I am a bit of a germ freak.

I've never attempted to remove the hose from the reel, but the inside of the hose can be disinfected.
Most hardware stores will carry those small electric drill powered transfer pumps, usually $10.
Make a bucket full of water + 1 cup of bleach. Now connect your RV hose to the pump and a very short hose to put into the bucket. Now run "most" of the bleach solution through the hose. Stop before empting the bucket and leave the hose in the bucket. Let it be for 15 minutes and you are done.
Now you should use this bleach solution that's in your fresh water holding tank to sanitize the rest of the system.
