Water pressure in kitchen

Hi - I have a (new to me) 99 DSDP. I used it for the first time this weekend - without hookups, so I was on the generator all weekend. The water pressure in the bathroom was good, but weak in the kitchen.

Is there a known place the water gets restricted? Took the aerator off and cleaned it but that didn’t help.

Thanks!

Have you checked for an under sink water filter? I'd start there. With the aerator off, did water flow improve?

No improvement with the aerator off. I’ll check under the sink.

Our 5th Wheel trailer "lives" in a RV park that's on well water. And that well water is VERY hard. I often have this problem with the galley sink faucet and have to completely remove the handle faucet from the extendable hose and soak the entire faucet in warm vinegar to dissolve the calcium carbonate built-up inside the faucet. Just cleaning one screen doesn't do the job. I have to soak the entire faucet in vinegar.

My "best" and fastest method is to put a cup of vinegar in the electric hot water pot, put the faucet in, fill to the limit line with fresh water, and then turn the thing on until it gets hot (not quite reaching boil). That does it.

While you are looking under sink, check the size of the water lines to the faucet. Our motorhome has had low kitchen sink pressure since brand new. One look at the tiny copper lines to faucet explains the low volume and pressure. I think it is their way of conserving water.

If you look at any kitchen faucet for home use you'll see small supply lines. Very normal, not a plot to conserve water.

To the OP, you could try soaking the water system with vinegar, but unless you see other evidence of mineral build up, I'm not sure you'll see an improvement.

Single hole faucets use supply lines small enough to fit in one hole. Go to any home improvement store and look at faucets. I don't think they are the cause of the reduced flow.

That's probably because your home lines are old. And the same with RV's -- older ones have larger lines to the faucets than new ones.

I recently installed a new Moen faucet in our Chinook (made in 2002). I had to install hose adapters because the new Moen faucet has much smaller connections than the one made in 2002.
