1- My watts regulator is shot?
2- Should I have the regulator closer to the motorhome but then the overnight build of pressure would be in the motorhome PEX plumbing? Right now length of 50 foot hose is between regulator and gauge set-up at inlet at motorhome.

My pressure gauge drops when the water is being used, this is normal. Set your regulator using static water pressure.
If yous is climbing to 65 overnight then I suggest setting it lower, it's likely the park pressure is higher overnight when less people are using water.
The only way I know to determine if you have a faulty regulator or gauge is to try another gauge on a T-adapter and monitor both.

We use a Watts regulator also. I keep a short flex hose on it and also have brass 45 and 90 degree water hose adapters available if I need them. Not to mention I always put a Y valve so I can have another source and not take off my water hose. Plus I have found the Y valve is nice to relieve the pressure and not get sprayed by the hose when I disconnect.

If I set it lower then we have very little pressure when in use the reg. is 16 years old and has been in some cold PA winters if that affects its life or not? Thanks, Joe

I suspect either a clogged pressure regulator or inlet screen. Your regulator may have a built in screen and over time it got clogged. These can, most of the time, be rebuilt pretty easy. Check with Watts for a kit.
It doesn't make much difference where the regulator is located as far as your second question goes. BUT, having the properly operating pressure regulator before the hose will protect the hose from bursting. See my post #25 showing the pressure at one campground. If the regulator was used after the hose, the hose might have been compromised.
What you describe seems to indicate a clogged screen either at the spigot, regulator, or even at the coach water inlet. What you describe is also indicating poor or clogged water supply system, too many people using water all at the same time. Just check what you can control. Look for clogged screens at the regulator, inside the regulator, or at the coach water inlet.

Just Google your water pressure model and check to see if it has a built in debris screen or not.

Saved my coach
I bought a regulator but was unhappy with flow. Changed it for a "high flow" regulator set for 55 PSI. Have been in several parks with posted warnings of high pressure. One exploded my (blue tubular plastic) Camco inline filter installed at the faucet pre-regulator.
We are very sensitive to park pressure as I converted to an on-demand water heater. Its operation and stability is DRAMATICALLY affected by incoming pressure. In fact, I also built a plastic tub with 60PSI pump, pressure switch, and expansion tank to help in low pressure areas. (Wasn't needed with our old Atwood storage heater.)

water lines low pressure
Hi I have tried a couple regulators ( one adjustable and a preset) but I received a email from forest river saying the the water lines in my 2017 unit were only good for 30 psi low I thought so that's my 2 cents . I tried it with out regulator briefly and a new shower head with great pressure but I still new to the rv thing and don't want to blow any lines.

Just get an adjustable regulator
To much chatter in here. Just get an adjustable regulator and be done with it.

Wrong. Only recently have residential dwellings been built with plastic (Pex) water lines. Most have copper. Older ones have galvanized steel. In any case, you will not want pressure above 60psi in your coach, do you’ll want to use a regulator.

This Thread makes me wonder if I have one built in. How can I tell? I definitely agree that one would be required either internal or external, but not both.
