I've had coaches with and without the accumlator/exansion tank. For me, the tank does solve the water pulsing problem. I have no experience with the 5.7 gpm pump mentioned above.

I put the ShurFlo 5.7 in our MA and it was a big improvement over the factory pump. Not silent, but quieter than the old one.
