I have called KVH several times to talk about a technical problem or how to properly use the L2 antenna system. Twice I was told to use 303 protectant on the dome. I don't have a reception problem but it was worked into the conversation since I tend to ask as many questions as I can think of when I have a tech on the line.
They also said the domes have less rain/morning dew proplems if they are painted. He said use a good non metalic automotive paint. Don't use a primer and don't apply a clear coat.
He said you will lose a point or 2 of signal strenght by painting, but it wouldn't hurt reception.
