Purchase a Valterra twist-on waste valve. It ends PDS (pre-dumping syndrome) for good.
Define PDS: Stress occurring prior to dumping RV waste tanks due to fear of waste buildup behind endcap. The buildup can lead to purchases of unnecessary gear, use of catch buckets and inevitable soiling of wet bay, garments and hands. The worst sufferers of PDS almost always have had an experience of facial contamination.

I assume you put the Valterra twist-on waste valve on the very end before connecting the sewer hose to it? I would assume you still close the black and gray valve but just use the Valterra twist-on waste valve to catch any residual?

That's 10-4! People go to all kinds of contortions to avoid the ick! This is so simple, fool proof and PDS FREE!
This sounds like a TV infomercial in the making.
Are you tired of rubber gloves, slop buckets, baby diapers... anything to avoid fouling your wet bay? Try the Valterra twist-on Valve and say goodbye to the mess and expense for good. If you call now....

Ha! When Jim opened the valve to dump, water did leak out as Susiedavid mentioned. He was alarmed...never happened! I will ask him when he wakes up if he has seen the "infomercial" about the Valterra twist-on valve! Lol! Avid_dk....your posts make me smile!
Thanks, everyone!!

Yes, we are getting one, too! Found a YouTube video, and now we have to have it!

The twist on valve is a good idea but it may be overkill. Looking at where the valves are I suspect the little bit of water that comes out when you remove the cap is probably just whatever gray water was in the line after dumping. Assuming that you always dump your gray water last.
