We did it......really did it!
After several years of research, reading, shows, seminars, well you get the picture, we have ordered a Dutch Star 4369. We narrowed our search to three those being Tiffin, Entegra, and Newmar. All three had their plus and minus points but Newmar and their willingness to accommodate the few changes that we wanted to make, the feel of the coach decor and floor plan and our interaction with the manufacture folks including Matt Miller sealed our choice.
Many many thanks to all of you who have shared your thoughts and experiences with your coaches and Newmar! This being our first coach our learning curve is huge and although we've come a long way I know we have just scratched the surface.
So here is our order as it stands with this writing. We are planning a trip to the factory (our 2nd)to make some changes however this is a start. Please feel free to make suggestions!
3 AC's
Stacked W&D
Fold down shower seat & handle
Kitchen window
Power DS window
Dual access storage tray
Central Vac
Power water & elect reel
Universal remote
Recessed docking lights
Solar prep
Chrome Mirrors
Safe
Holding tank heat pads
Power baggage locks
All electric, induction cook top
Dash Navigation and radio
Heated floors
Wineguard open face dish
Euro booth & with two recliners
Carmel cherry cabinets
Recessed storage in rear cap
Additional Girard Awning
Factory delivery
We don't feel we would use the ext. TV and the freezer though nice to have takes up storage space so we passed. We hope someone will chime in on the whirlpool microwave vs. the adventium as we have no experience with either.
So now we wait for delivery in late April early May which is our choice although the factory is quoting March for orders placed now.
I know someone will ask about dealer and where. We took advantage of being able to see our list of coaches at Hershey. RV One had both Entegra & Newmar and Colten RV Tiffin. We were extremely pleased with the treatment we received and with our deal. RV One being a relatively new dealership has some catching up to do with product knowledge but factory folks filled in the blanks and our sales rep got the answers he didn't know. He was very professional in his representation of the product lines. It was refreshing to work with someone who focused on what he represented rather than bashing the competition.

Congrats on your new DS.
Does it really take 6 months from the time of placing the order to getting it?

Nope...he stated that normal delivery would be in March but they chose a later build/delivery date. I think he was smart to delay delivery. Who wants to take delivery in the snow?
Congrats on your new coach.

Wonderful! We know you will have many fun experiences with your coach. Of course, everyone wants to see lots of pictures when the day comes.
We do have a couple suggestions to add to your list. We are about to add the SeeLevel tank monitors to our DS. The factory tank probes cruded up very quickly and now the readout is useless. Also, we would heartily suggest that the factory install a Progressive Industries hard wired 50 amp surge protector. Actually this piece of equipment will also protect against high/low pedestal power, open neutrals and lost grounding. Our PI has already saved our appliances at least once. It really should be standard.
We love our DS although it was purchased from dealer stock and not a factory delivery.

Congratulations and welcome to the Newmar family.
Here is a 2014 Owners Guide, sorry the 2015"s are not loaded yet, to fill in the six months and below in my signature are links to many for added fill until you get the coach.
You can also access the COM_NET link to browse around.

Very cool.
Will you get a chance to go watch it being built?
If you can do it, I highly recommend it.

Congrats! Your DS sounds like a dream.
I'd be nuts thinking I had to wait till MARCH to get it. LOL!

Speaking with the factory folks they are producing 8 coaches per day and 6 months is where they are quoting delivery. We chose to push back just a little further because of not trusting W.Michigan weather and having my storage building free. Since we sold the boats and jet skis the building was empty so we rented out storage for the winter

Thanks for the suggestion on the tank monitor. I'm taking notes!
PDR John- I hope we can watch it being built. I'm a hands on gear head kind of guy so learning all I can about how it's built and where stuff is at in the walls is a big deal to me. Going to try to make it work.

So my DW is asking two questions,
1. Is the dishwasher really worth the loss of the storage space?
2. Adding the window to the kitchen. We included it on the order but she thinks it will detract from the backsplash. Thoughts?........(I learned a long time ago. When it comes to this stuff........I have NO opinion! )

Kitchen window we discussed, have one now, IMO not needed.
Solar prep
be mindful you can not add a controller it is just wires from roof to batt.
therefore depending on what solar you add my be useless
I spec'd out a wire from roof to a pantry where I will mount a solar controller.
another wire from pantry to batteries.
Now I can add several hundred watts
Chrome Mirrors, depends on paint choice, may look better painted
Holding tank heat pads, not needed Oasis keeps basement worm to 40 degrees with outdoor temps below zero.
