Thumbs up What a pleasure to drive

I am amazed at how comfortable my VTDP is to drive. Been heading from VA to CO Springs. Driving across Kansas today was just a pleasure across I-70. It's well aligned, straight as an arrow, just a joy to drive. Smooth, cruise control is locked on, so happy. Of course comfort drive is amazing. I'm getting used to the seat and finally find it comfortable. Really enjoying this!

P.S. Steaks taste 10X better when camping! Yummmmm

I agree

Just finished a 2000 mile drive to check ours out. It was a pleasure, drove over two mountain ranges with MULTIPLE 6% grades. No problem at all! These coaches handle great, although you can tell which states put money in their roads! When the road is smooth it is like driving an electric car, smooth and quiet. I'm very happy with the Newmar tag. It seems to keep you straight and the Diesels don't suck you in when they pass. Of course I passed them going up hill!

If I could spend the rest of my life in the driver's seat, I'd die a happy man. I seriously enjoy getting where I'm going as much as being there.

Enjoy your freedom, Neal.

Same experience here. Wrapping up a 6000 mile drive out West and back. Driving this RV is downright fun.

Same here, I love the feel of the wheel. It drives different from anything else I drive, like going from the F-4 to the C-130. But when I'm behind the wheel, cruise set, traffic light, I just love the feel of this big monster, with the Cat purring 40 feet behind me.

I am also from VA. Live on Smith Mountain Lake now. We should have a VA rally. We are also going to Hoots V. There may be a couple openings still available if anyone is interested.

I just came back from Lake Toxaway N.C. I am so impressed with my Dutch Star. The transmission was flawless and it did drop to 2nd gear twice for a short time but held 2,100 RPMs and pulled me and my Grand Cherokee right up the mountain. The 3 speed Compression brake also was terrific with very little foot brake needed. i traded from a Tiffin Phaeton and what a difference.

As a newbie to the RV world, it is great to hear how nicely the Newmar's drive. My wife and I both simply love driving and can't wait to hit the road in the not too distant future. It's also terrific to find some other Virginias on the forum. We're from Leesburg. I don't even know of a good dealer in VA. We are starting from scratch but appreciate the contributions from folks on this forum.
