Besides the Newmar desk options, has anyone created/bought their own desk?

Not in a Newmar... My Bounder. Removed the swivel chair by the door. Desk is bolted to the floor... Laptop computer is in a cabinet above and displays on the high def TV... I use a wireless keyboard and mouse. Using the TV remote I can switch back and forth between TV and computer.

Here's our 2 workstations in place of the sofas. We had someone build them in which is our preference, but we have friends with 2 desks they got from an office furniture place that are back 2 back on one side of the coach.

Carlyle Lehman will make anything you want and he does excellent work.

Many of us have his products in our MHs.

When we ordered our coach, we rough sketched the design of the desk along with the entertainment cabinet and the pantry cabinets and Newmar built them. Not cheap, but it was nice to have the work already completed when we picked up the coach in Nappanee.

For a coach already built, I would contact Gene Miller of Kaufman Kustom Kitchens in Nappanee. Gene does excellent work. He took over Irv Kaufman's business when he retired.

We have ordered a custom desk from Carlyle Lehman at Focal Wood Products. His workmanship is excellent and he has the stains and hardware to match that used in our coach. We have an 08 Ventana 3330 and therefore have limited space. Carlyle is building a custom desk for us that will fit in the same area as the easy chair that came with the coach. We pick it up on our next trip to the Elkhart area.

I would also recommend Gene Miller in Nappanee. Irv Kaufman built our original cabinetry, but has since sold his business to Gene. Gene has since done work for us that is excellent and his prices are quite reasonable.
