What Filter is This?

There is a spin-on fuel filter mounted under the front hood next to the air chuck. I wondered if it was for the generator or the coach engine. Seems strange that a filter for the coach engine would be mounted up front.

I called Newmar and asked. The person on the phone went to look at another Ventana and couldn't find the filter I'm describing. After reading the label on the side of the filter to her, she said it was for the engine.

Still seems odd that the fuel filter would be mounted 40 ft from the engine.

I'm looking for second opinions about this filter.

From the size of the fuel lines ; appears to be 1/4" i.d.; I'd say someone has added it for the genset.
Can you trace the lines to the tank and genset?

I'd have to say that changing it there would be much easier than the factory item , hidden inside the bottom of the generator.

EDIT: You haven't said if your the first owner of a new coach or listed the year.

I X2 Skip426 opinion of someone added another filter for the genset. It's certainly not a filter for the chassis engine.

I bought the coach new from Guaranty RV in Oregon. Either they or Newmar installed the filter. Its a 2014 model

The hoses lead to a large bundle with lots of wires and cables and head aft on the coach. I think I better put on my work clothes and start tracing where they go.

Pretty sure it is for your Oasis heating system. That is where my Oasis fuel filter is

It's the filter for the fuel supply to your Oasis Hydronic unit. When you buy the service kit for your Oasis unit, it comes with that filter.

Just as a reminder to yourself label it and use a market to put the date on the filter. It can be an indispensable aid

Wow this is great!

After reading this thread, I went out and discovered I have an air chuck in the same location on our '08 Ventana.

Learn something new everyday...

Cheers,
Don

This filter is also included in the annual Oasis maintenance kit.
