What is this salesperson talking about

I'm seriously considering purchasing a brand new King Aire 4599 so I asked a salesperson at Lazy Days what he thought of the idea. Here's his response: "We do not sell Newmar and I would not recommend a king aire. Ask them about the dump truck tires on the front and the 65mph speed limit"

Can anyone shed light on what he's talking about and should I be worried. If I understand his implication, it sounds as if Newmar installs dump truck tires on the front end of these coaches and if you drive them over 65 mph, they will burst or cause a catastrophic failure. I certainly wouldn't want that and can't imagine that Newmar would produce a vehicle like that.

IMO, that is a salesman full of bull who just doesn't want you to consider something he doesn't sell.

Truth is most all our heavy class A rigs have the same tires that are used on many commercial trucks. I would also question the 65 mph speed rating.

Check with North Trail RV in Fort Meyers or contact Newmar for specifics on the King Air. Or, post a question on the Newmar Owners' forum.

Remember, you can always tell when a car/RV salesman is lying.... his lips will be moving.

If you are going to search, the town is spelled Ft. Myers. Common mistake.

All large diesel pushers use the same or the same size tires as all large trucks, and I believe they are all speed rated to a max of 65 MPH.

While his statement may be technically true, it's also true of the brands he sells too. He just made it sound like Newmar was doing something wrong.

Sour grapes as Newmar will not let Lazy days sell Newmars.

A poor salesman's response concerning competition. HE obviously does not know his products or the competitions equipment. So his response is to talk down the competition rather than talk up his products features.

I was in technical sales for 30 years and found that I had to know as much about the competitors equipment as I knew about my own equipment.

tires

The 365/70r/22.5 tires on the front of the King Aire are rated at 75mph.

That guy is an IDIOT.
Call Diesel Dan at North Trails 239-707-0209 cell
Had mine at 85.....going up hill first day I owned it. (no comments PLEASE)
Bigger front tires = lower tire pressures = smoother ride.
This is a FINE coach!

Yeah, dump truck tires. Same 365/70s that anyone with a 20,000 lb front axle uses. Like Newell and Entegra. Newell also uses the same tires on their tag axle. As everyone else has said, he's full of it.

That's just what I was thinking. We usually do 62-65 (V10 sweet spot) & more often than not, we're passed by a semi so fast you'd think we were standing still.

I kinda like that the semis are going faster than me. It keeps me from having to pass them at that same sweet spot.
