Question What Options on Dutch Star?

Looking to finalize build out order on a Dutch Star. Would appreciate feedback from you that have these two options on whether or not you would order these items again:
1. In motion satellite dish.
2. Heated tile floors.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I had the in motion in our Cayon Star and did not like it.Never could get it to work correctly so we never used it.We now have the automatic option in our 2017 Dutch Star and it works great, all we had to do is turn it on and it automatically set itself up and worke great.

We did not get either of those and are happy we didn't. We also didnt get basement freezer and are happy with that decision.

Congrats on your upcoming coach!

We got heated floors but ordered Trav'ler dish instead. Our previous coach had in-motion when we first bought and we thought we'd love it. After using I found due to satellite needing SW view we typically only got good reception when driving north or west. When traveling south or east due to tree exposure we lost signal often. We changed out to the Trav'ler and have never looked back. If we want to watch tv on road we just DVR before next trip. Reception is also much better on Trav'ler & you can watch any channel on multiple tvs at once.

Only had our coach two weeks. Love the heated floors and in motion. Haven't had a chance yet to really try out the in motion. Leaving tomorrow for the winter so I'll have a better feel of the satellite in a few weeks but so far so good. Have an issue with the heated floor but I'm going to start another thread on that.

Love the heated floors, but removed the in motion and replaced it with the Winegard Traveler, best dish on the market, hands down. Good luck with the coach, you will love it.

We have heated floors and the Winegard RTT-40B motion SAT. After delivery the dealer set us up with two receivers ready to activate. We still haven't so I can't comment on that particular option. However I highly recommend the heated floors. It flat out turns cool weather camping up a notch. Between the heated floors & fireplace we have to force ourselves to use the diesel heat. In very cold temps we need to use furnace strictly to keep basement warm.

Heated floors, definitely. We didn't in-motion satellite because there's no real convenient way to watch TV with the slides in -- and the beautiful view out the front window is all we want to watch when in motion. We got a Winegard Trav'ler for stationary use, it's been great.

no on heated floors unless you camp in cold places

We didn't get the heated floors and are glad not to have spent the extra on something we'd never use. We try to always be in warm weather. When it gets chilly at night, we find the heat from either the HP (A/C units used as heat pump) or FURN (heat from Oasis burner) to be entirely satisfactory.
We had the dealer remove the basement fridge/freezer. Since we're not fishermen, we didn't need the extra space. The fridge in the kitchen is plenty big for us and we're glad to have the extra storage room instead.

IMO:

In motion satellite: Not as good reception as an open dish style. Who really watches TV while driving anyway?

Heated floors: When hooked up to shore power you use the campground power not your fuel and it is silent unlike fairly noisy other heating options.

We don't watch the TV while going down the road but we like to record some daytime programs and then watch them at night. DW Y&R

A real advantage to in-motion sat is when pulling into a rv slot you can tell immediately whether or not you have reception. With the traveler it takes so long to unfold and acquire the sats that everything is set up and moving even a little to acquire reception is a real pain. I recently installed traveler and while the HD reception is great I miss my HVH in-motion.

When we ordered our '02 DSDP we got the roll out bay refer/freezer because the interior Dometic refer was so small. Probably would not do that with the new home refers. Never needed to try and watch TV on the move either.
Present rig has heated floors, have never needed to turn them on due to late wife's health problems and not being able to travel.
