I have a 2004 DSDP
I just pulled my old TV set out, over the dash and will replace it with a 26" LCD, so I have to do the least amount of work to make it fit.
I did a search of TV dimensions, on line, trying to find the best size 26", to fill my current trim piece. I found some that would leave the lease gap, width wise. A little over a 1/4" on each side. As far as the height it looks like I will have to put another board at the top, to fill a 2" or more gap.
Has anyone found a TV model that fits fairly well?
I started off thinking a 32" might work, but it looks like it would take more work then I am capable of doing.
Tom

When you install the LCD the height will always be narrow. Most of the installs by members they have placed a wood filler and cut out slots in filler for ventilation at top of LCD. You can get a filler from Lowes or HD of same wood you have for cabinets in coach.

I found a 32" Sharp at Walmart that would fit and wouldn't interfere with either end cabinet.
It measured 30-9/16" wide by 20-9/32" high, I would have to eliminate the wooden trim and leave a few inches sticking out past the cabinet, but didn't know if the rest of the set would fit into the existing cabinet. My cabinet measures 28-1/2" wide at the tightest point and 21-1/4" high.
Is that what yours measures? Did you post pictures of your setup?
I would much rather go with a 32" set.
Thanks,
Tom

tmitchell-- Tom,
Don't waste your time wtth the 26" TV. Get a 32' and let it "overhang" the cabinet slightly. You'll be a lot happier in the long run. Get a full HD TV (1080p) for future Blu Ray use, even if you think you won't use it now. A few bucks more now and it will be ready for you in the future. I did the 26" upgrade first and was real unhappy with the size of the unit.
Click on here ----- Here I go again--TV updated ----and see my second install--.
It's actually better for everything if it extends a little-- for cooling purposes. These LCD's generate a lot of heat and that presents another problem for fully enclosed units.
Good luck, you'll be happier with a 32" unit --as we are.

It did fit with no cabinet Mods. I did move the left door a little to the left!!
There are pics in the Quick Tips and Mods But when you try to open the link it sends you to the Old Forum!!!!
So maybe '007' will jump in and help get you there.

Rick,
I went through all the photos, but didn't find any under your user name.
What kind of a mount did you use? How much of the TV sticks out past the cabinet?
Thanks for the help.

Check oemtech's two links full of pictures Ricks links are not working as yet.
As Max said if its not in cabinet better for ventilation issue, just size it so you do not have to have cabinet rebuild.

Thanks. I am heading out now to check several Walmarts in the general area for the Sharp 32", that I saw at a Walmart, 100 miles to the north, in the Tampa area.
It was just 30-9/16" wide, so it will work according to Rick's post and my measurements.

We've got a 30 1/2" wide Sylvania from BJs. Like the picture so well we were going to replace our outside(26") with one when we found a 37" that fits perfect with the old mounting(eliminated the facia board).

Your setup looks great.
Now you have me really confused.
Is that the original wood trim frame? There is no way the Sharp will fit completely inside my cabinet. I estimate about 2-3/4" of the front of the TV sitting outside, because of the width of my cabinet, which is 28-1/2" without the trim. With trim 27".
Your cabinet must be wider then the one in my 2004 DSDP. Even without a trim piece I will have to offset the TV an 1/8" or more to fully open the left door.
How did you hang yours? I am thinking of getting an articulate mount from
Walmart and mounting it to the right side of the left cabinet wall.
What keeps your TV from moving?
Will you be staying at Lazy Days Rally Park, when you are in Seffner? I live 100 miles south off exit 167.
Thanks for your help.
Tom
