Newmar was the first to introduce Comfort Drive in '07, a feature that has set them apart from others. Now Newell is soon to offer it on their coaches. This is a wise move on Newell's part. Unfortunely it will not be available for retro-fit on previous units. I guess you will have to buy a new one. Since '08 Newmar has equipped all of their diesel pusher lines with CD, now Newells can drive as great as the Spartan Chassis Newmar coaches.
Newmar was the pioneer of flat floor slideouts and in offering CD steering. Being copied is one of the highest compliments. Good going Newmar!
Just thought you should know.

Hello Peter, the problem seems to be the $. I just can't get into a NEWELL for the price of my NEWMAR product. The last MAXwin of 50 Mill. came to Vancouver, but it drove by our house
But I must admit, I look at the website from NEWELL very often
Dreaming is allowed!!

Have never been on a Newell forum would just say they may have same problems we have on our low end ESSEX's, KING AIRE's & MOUINTAIN AIRE's with CD and flat slides.

I haven't heard of problems with CD. Can you share any info you are referring to?
Thanks.

If there were a Newell forum Im sure the owners would have an assistant monitoring the forum threads and reporting to them.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing as Tom (Skipper 05MA) above. What problem(s)? Our 08 Ex w. CD (Comfort Drive) has been a dream.

Are you saying the Newell's didn't drive as great as the Spartan Newmar Chassis before they added the CD?

Steering, yes! The CD equipped vehicles are the safest most ease to drive units, in my opinion. Newell is not adding this pricey feature for nothing. Do a few thousand miles with CD and you will agree.

I'm not aware of any issues save one new unit at the factory a couple of years ago required reprogramming.

If you haven't driven a coach with CD, you're missing something.
It's a remarkable experience.

For what it's worth, the required reprogramming was needed because they tried to use an older non-efforts knob CD with an efforts knob.

That news sure tips some of the scale towards Newell as opposed to a Prevost. Both have many attributes when considering an ultimate rig, and I would aspire to either, but comfort drive is a great addition for Newell.
By the way Ken, I sure you all could come up with an "efforts" retrofit for our 07 model. I really like Pauls dialable comfort drive.
