What's in the black box?

On one of our first maiden voyages we were in a spot where we backed in over a concrete curb to get close enough to the not-so-well-placed utilities.
When I went to level out and dumped the air the rear end settled right down on top of the curb partially munching the black plastic box on the right rear side behind the jack.
Didn't seem too bad but folded over the verticle plastic seam and popped a rivet. I could tell the previous owner had done the same/simular thing.

What's in there that I might have to worry about?

I think your talking about the black cover over the filters - fuel filters, hydraulic filter, air dryer and filter. If the box (cover) is slightly damaged - no big deal. But there are all those filters, fuel lines, hydraulic lines and air lines under there too. I would remove the cover to see if anything is damaged.

Those covers on 2005 Dutch Stars had a habit of falling off because they are held on with two thumbscrews. Many owners, including myself, drilled an extra hole on each side and installed bolts, lock washers and nuts.

Norm is correct.

You should take a look to see if everything is OK under the cover.

The Newmar fix was to put a small lip at the bottom edge of the cover for support, then plastic around the thumb screws would not crack and allow the cover to fall off.

I had this done under warrenty after loosing the cover on I-10 in west TX.
