Whats my roof made of?
Can any one tell me what my roof top is made of. Looks like rolled aluminum along the sides down to the walls, could be fiberglass? Then fiberglass on the front and rear cap. Not sure what the top is made of. It's white and hard if you tap on it with your knuckle. I can see where the trusses are. The sun has caused a shadow imprint to fade thru on most of the roof very lightly. Can't find the description in the mfg. brochure. 2001 38.5 DS/DP

Our 2000 DSDP had the segmented fiberglass roof, our present 2002 has the BriteTek. Newmar started using BriteTek in 2000 I think.
Seams in the roof probably mean the fiberglass, no seams probably BriteTek.

Brochure and Owners Guide.
In section 14-1 it says coach came with a rubber roof of owners guide.
If you can leave a thumb print impression on surface would say its rubber or if other owner had changed later for some reason could be the BRITE-TEK ROOF.
This in parts section for year indicate its rubber:

If the roof is drying out will turn to black mold and start to crumble if it was not taken care of.
Here is some information on a before and after roof. What can be done for a new roof.

It must be Brite-Tek. I had a rubber roof on our old camper and it's nothing like that. The only seams are around the paremeter of the roof where it transitions to the rolled side edge and front & rear cap's. The joint's look to be sealed with soft spongy rubber calk.
Thanks for the replys

After a web search. I read on the Dicor web site their decription of brite tek. That's not what I have, must be fiberglass.
