You shouldn`t have to remove wheel liners to access valve stems IF liners and wheels were installed correctly.
If you look at the lug nut covers carefully, some of them will have little "dimples" in them and these are removable.Pry them off with small offset screwdriver and there should be a jam nut under that holds the wheel liner on.
Welcome to IRV2, You will find this to be the best RV website on the internet.
Please let us know how you make out with your wheels.
You should be able to align wheel and simulators to have access to valve stems. After my brakes were serviced I had same problem and had to remove outside wheel and rotate to properly align.

Welcome tionapa to the Newmar forum and irv2.
As Spoonman said two nuts with dimples there is a tool supplied by wheel cover MFG that fits over nuts and you can turn them without removing lugnut covers. It will have a nut socket with a "T" shaped handle.
Not sure what coach you have you can post info in your signature block second page of your profile and it will appear on all your posts.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

tionapa,

Just tap on the 8 "nut" covers-- the two with the solid sound are the ones to pull off, the rest is easy. Look for your special large tool with a "T" handle, and a piece of tubing to fit over the "T" handle, to remove the retaining nuts-- Good luck

I have tried to remove the lug nut covers with the Newmar supplied tool and have used an "old man" for addition leverage to no avail. In fact I almost twisted the handle off of the supplied tool. My dealer stated that it is necessary to use an air knock gun to remove the lug nuts. i aqm looking for a simpled solution.

Tionapa

The problem is on a 3004 40' Dutch star

The air knock gun explains it now you need a reliable braker bar and socket. Than use just the tool supplied if it still exsists.

To remove the wheel covers remove the two nut covers that are larger and have marks on them. You should have a tool to remove them or you can use large pliers or even a flat blade screwdrive. The nuts under them should only be tight enough to hold the covers in place and the T-handle tool should remove them.

However, I have witnessed some truck tire places tighten those nuts to 450 lb-ft torque and if yours are that tight you may need to go to a truck tire place to have the nuts removed. When you reinstall them tighten them just enought to hold the wheel covers in place.
