Welcome berggy to irv2.
I'm going to move this question down to the Newmar forum where we have a 5th wheel group who should be able to give you a correct answer.
Your batteries maybe behind a wall panel near your shore line and converter location.

Welcome aboard!

Our Mountain Aire is a 2005, all the MAs in that period had the batteries in the rear bumper drawer by the spare tire. There should be splits in the rear bumper, if there are, look way inside the right rear compartment for the release handle.

This is exactly how my 1998 MA fifth wheel worked. Batteries and spare were in the bumper, release cable with black T handle in right rear lower compartment.

Thanks to all who responded back to me! They are in the back bumper with a release pull opener in the hatch right above it.
