In my prior rv, 2000 Suncruiser, the bathroom sink drained into the black tank. My new to me 2007 DSDP 4023 has two bathroom sinks and I'm wondering if one, or both sinks drain into the black tank. Anyone know??

Hi RJay,
The sinks drain into the grey water waste tank. The only thing that goes into the black tank is toilet waste.

Gary thanks, these things are good to know when boondocking for tank management.

There are a lot of things you can do to ensure you don't overflow your gray water. The obvious one being short Navy showers, installing a water saving shower head like an oxygenics, putting a plastic tub in your sink to wash dishes then dumping that into the toilet. The Black will always outlast the Gray so put anything you can in there. Some guys have actually put water pumps with check valves in between their tanks to transfer Gray water to the Black tank. This always seemed extreme to me.

Don, good suggestions! While I was in Denali National Park while waiting for the shower water to get hot I would save all the cold water for reuse. I have to admit I'm not a die-hard boondocker but at times I enjoy the challenge.

RJay: The answer to your question is floor plan specific. I know for sure that MY 03 KSCA 3740 (bath and a half) sends the "front stool room" sink drain to the black tank along with the flush from the front toilet. The rear toilet has it's own black tank. Yes, I have 2 black tanks, each with it's own drain valve, but all three valves terminate on one hose connection.
The kitchen sink, the rear bath sink, and the shower drains all go to the grey water tank.
The easy way to test YOURS is to open the grey tank drain valve (only) until it empties the tank. Then run water into each of the three sinks, one at a time, while listening for water flow at the drain hose. Obviously, if you don't hear water flowing out, then that sink drains to the black tank. Good luck. ED
