Where does this wire go

At the last inspection I was crawling around under my 2003 Dutch Star and found a broken wire. On the passanger side just above the muffler is a bunch of wires all in plastic sheathing. One comes out and has two wires in it with an inline fuse, the kind with 2 barbs. Right now it is not connected to anything and I can not figure out where it goes. It is about 2 feet long after it exits the bundle and will reach the muffler as the plastic curlely stuff was actually fused to the muffler. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Bill

As for as I can tell everything works, but it would seem something is unpowered, but just what it is is the question???

If everything works, I would tie it up to keep it off the muffler and not worry about it. Could be just an extra wire in the bundle for something you don't have and the manufacturer has it in there for an option. If you find some thing some day that doesn't work, check back there.

One fact: There are many different motor homes, some configurations need power to ____ and some do not, but for the manufacturer it is cheaper to have one harness that has that wire in it for ALL models, even if the model you have does not use it. (Cost less to have one stock number than 27)

It may be a "Spare wire"

Possibly a towed charge line for example.

I love how owners of other brands jump in with opinions and fixes that are not applicable.

Don't have the Dutch star but does it really matter? Many problems and solutions are universal and parts cross reference. At least some have tried to provide a thinking point or possible solution.

IMHO, if you have this brand and the answer please let us hear it.

Newmar will provide you wiring diagrams if you ask. On my 2007 KSDP each wire is labled and the wiring diagrams identify it.

As Darrel has said Newmar wiring harness's the wires are marked and identify what for and where they go.
If its a chassis wiring harness may have to get in touch with the chassis maker.
