Where to find used Dutch Star
I'm retiring in 3 1/2 years selling s&b and planning on go full time. I've searched RVTrader and some other rv dealer sites. Are their any good places to search. My budget is about 150k so I guess I would looking at 6-8 year old coaches at time of retirement.

Check with the larger Newmar dealers that carry the higher priced Newmar coaches, King Aire, Mountain Aire, and Essex. Like North Trail RV Florida, Steinbring RV Minnesota, Independence RV Florida, Transwest RV Colorado.
They turnover a lot coaches and take in many trades. People on average trade up every 3 years.

I'm looking for a 3736 so hoping people would be trading up for longer size. DW thinks more than 35' is too big.

"Too big" only lasts for a month or so; "too small" lasts forever.

I second this one. I recently traded in a Dutch Star, and it was sold before we even got it to the dealer. The sales reps know when good units are coming in and they call customers that they know are looking. That's what happened with us. The good units never even make it on to the dealer websites.

Welcome to the forum!
You'll find good information here. Lots of smart and experienced members.
We searched for over a year for a used Dutch Star but were always too slow. By the time we would get logistics together to look at a coach on the market it was sold. Had one coach sold literally from under me as I was up on the ladder inspecting the roof. That was at Midway in Grand Rapids, Mi.
That same day Midway had a Kountry Star taken in on trade in the shop prepping to place on the market. They showed me the coach and we bought it.
Very happy with our KSDP!
Best of luck with your search.
Cheers

We recently looked at a 2017 DSDP 3736 and 2018 DSDP 3718. Our feeling was that each coach [U]might[U] have enough basement storage for recreational use. This chassis doesn't even have one full width bay for pass through storage. I can't imagine living full time in a 37 ft. DSDP model because of the lack of storage. We don't use all of our storage in our present coach for recreational purposes but it would be loaded to the gills if we full-timed.
All that said, you folks may travel more lightly than us. Good luck with your coach hunting process. The Dutch Star is a great coach!

You definitely need to let dealers you trust know what you are interested in. We let 3 know we were looking for used before we ordered new in 18. We were getting at least one email a week with options on trade ins available.
We are going this week to inspect a DS 4369 we have a deposit on.
Great advice we also received was having several mfg/models that are acceptable to you if you are buying used. We were looking for Anthem, DS, and Allegro bus, 1-3 yrs old, in that order.

We looked for a used Dutch Star for quite a while before finding a very nice Mountain Aire instead. We made the deal as quickly as we could and are as happy as can be.

Thanks for all the great advice! Good to know how quickly they sell, one last question: How negotiable are dealers prices on used Dutch Stars ore Ventanas?
