We are scheduled to take our coach in to Newmar to have the sides re-skinned and the entire coach repainted due to paint checking. Newmar tells us it will take 3 to 4 weeks. Since we are fulltimers, we will need place to stay during that time. The hotels/motels and bed and breakfasts I am aware of are all $50 to over $100 per night. That would be $1500 to $3000 just to live there until our coach is repaired. Is there anywhere around Nappanee that we could rent a decent bedroom for a month and pay a monthly rate instead of a daily rate? We also have a cat and would need to either keep him with us or board him at a vet. We have boarded our cat in Nappanee before, but I hate to leave him boarded in a cage for an entire month. But we will do what we have to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

Try the Best Western in Goshen.

I've stayed there a couple of times for a couple of weeks, but it was on Newmar's dime.

You might want to call these folks and see if they'd do a short term rental for the studio.
Beautiful Studio, 1br and 2br apartments in Nappanee, IN.

Hi ricere,
Newmar has discounts with local merchants that provide lodging for customers who are without a coach. Depending on when you will be there, you should be able to work a deal for the time you want. Genie (Jeanne?), the parts lady, can tell you who the lodging suppliers are.

Just an idea. call the manager at the Inn at Amish Acres to see what kind of a monthly rate they could offer-- It is now there off-season and the Inn was empty when we left on 10/24/11. I suspect daily maid service not being needed could reduce your rate. Amish Acres is about 1/2 mile east of Newmar.

Talk to Newmar as said in above post they have some places they deal with and will take a cat or small dog.
We also had our unit re-skinned in Sept-Oct 2010 an are very happy with the results.
hellojohnny Newmar charges on a sliding scale that depents on the age of the Coach.
We were very happy with the price they quoted us, after pricing it else where $32-35,000. It is not just simple job and Newmar does not make a penny of profit on this program, but loses Thousands of dollars.
I will not quote our price, but it was the same as everyone else in our time period.
