In final preperation for selecting a coach we will be going to visit Newmar and take a plant tour next week.
I have asked to drive the demo where the CD can be turned off. We of coarse will go on the tour of the plant.
Is there anything else we should visit while out there?
How about where to stay? I realize most folks here stay in their coach, but if you were visiting and did not have a coach, where would you stay?

PS - we will be driving from NJ, so we are open to good suggested stops along the way!

While a bit pricey, the "easiest" place to stay is Amish Acres....
If you get someone from Newmar to call there, you could possibly get the "Newmar price" which is $20 less a night in season.
If you're dealing with a National Sales rep from Newmar, simply tell he or she that this is something that's important to you, given the rising costs in this economy and I'm almost certain they'd make the call.... Hey, all they can say is no, right?
Most every manufacturer in the area has a "deal" for their service customers to stay at either of the Amish Acre hotels...
Be sure and tell them you want an "inside" room, which is inside the "u shaped facility" as those outside rooms are more susceptible to the CHOO CHOO sounds.
I was in Nappanee for service no less than seven times and always stayed at Amish Acres to allow the service folks the "most time" to service the coach...

Bruce: Amish Acres is the place to be. It is very close to Newmar; and if you just let them know, you at Newmar, you will get their rate. My wife and I, were in Napannee, two weeks ago, stayed at Amish Acres, and also took the tour of Amish Acres, and had lunch there, also. Amish Acres, is the original homestead, of the first Amish family, to settle in Nappanne. It's worth the time, and you will come out, with a better appreciation of the Amish way of life. There is also a round barn theater, which the play is excellent. Hope you enjoy your stay.

We booked into Amish Acres no problem and I even asked for a room inside the U, which I needed to explain.
We are going next Thursday/Friday so if anyone will be there let me know and I will say hi.
I saw a post on another board about going to a 3 day week. does anyone know anything about this and what 3 days it will be.

Bruce,I've been to the Nappanee area at least a dozen times over the years. there are two places that I highly recommend.
Scottish Bed & Breakfast in Bremen. outstanding B&B and Newmar gets a discount. Much better than staying at Amish Acres.
Rentown: an authentic Amish store. Their version of Walmart! groceries to clothing....all Amish. About 4-5 miles from Newmar and they can give you directions. The only thing I miss about no longer having a Newmar is a reason to shop at Rentown.

Just a note.... we've added a "Who is at Camp Newmar" featured thread at the top of the Newmar Forum to aid our members in connecting with one another.
