Chattanooga not bad just take I75 S towards Dalton GA and catch 76 there and follow it East to Blairsville. We were there last summer on our maiden voyage. Nice Park. DO NOT try to get there from Helen in the East. We did that trying to avoid ATL coming from the South and it was a nail biter.

Asheville would have to be a round about route. Going through NC mountains to Blairsville not recommended. (We did that to going N in opposite direction). Learned our lesson and bought a good paper atlas as Rand GPS put us in some tight spots.

On the way to Napannee. First layover was at Cain's Creekside RV Park in Southern GA. Just east of I-75 in Hahira, GA, This ia a pretty nice park, each site had a small section of fence between you and your neighbors patio, also some small trees. Lakes to your front, pretty level gravel sites. Good AT&T. They had wifi but I didn't try it. The fella next to me stays here often. The two Sons of the owners were non-stop working on the CG while I was there. Train track nearby.

Looking across the lake to another section of CG

Day 2 took me to Northern GA where I stayed at Leisure Time RV Park. It was close to I-75 but I think I may have been the only non-permanent guest. They had wifi but I didn't use it. Few OTA channels (I don't have satellite). Good AT&T. Trains heard all night in the distance. Ok for an overnighter.

On the way to Nappanee (cont'd)

3rd layover - at Thousand Trails Diamond Caverns in KY. AT&T Cell signal has one bar (my yagi antennas got it up to 3 - seems when the sun is bright it goes back down), wifi you pay for (I didn't try it), OK OTA TV. CG is not huge like some other TT I've visited (70 sites) and being that it is in KY, all the sites are on a hill and not all that level (my front wheels are an inch off the ground). Seems to have a lot of annual residents.

There was a Ventana here when I got here, gone this morning.

Wait for my first drive with the wife's car on a dolly. We just went about 6 miles to the fuel station to fill up the tank.

on the way home it started to rain so this was my first time in the rain too.

MrsSquid said I did a good job keeping it between the lines.

I'm just glad we made it home in one piece.

Huaco Tanks SP, TX.

Barely a soul around. Quiet. Spotty VZ 3/4G, no OTA. Great wandering/climbing on the rocks. Took one of their 3 hour tours to see the pictographs and petroglyphs.

Been wanting to go there. I'm usually in too big a hurry up I-10 to veer off.

Hollywood Casino & RV Campground in Joliet, Illinois. About 45 miles southwest of Chicago.

This was an OK Campground. I would only recommend it for a few nights. We were there for 5 nights visiting family and friends in the Chicago area. Very close to the interstates and tollways so travel was a breeze. Only water and electric; dump station on site. No cable, no WiFi, clear for satellite and antenna. 5 bars on Verizon.

This was the only day it didn't rain or snow on our trip...
