Have you checked in your owner's manual? While they aren't good for many things, I'd expect it would have the proper sequence in the manual.

On that vintage, it should be leveled with the jacks first before the slides are moved out and the reverse when getting ready to leave.

IMHO, Do the slides first if you are on a reasonable level ,because you do not want to stress the frame before the slides go out.

When I am at a campsite, it is jacks down first to level and then slides out. At home, I do not use the jacks at all because our pad is level. I have a new model Level Mate Pro installed in the coach to make sure my pad is level.

Dump your air suspension 1st (if equipped) level with jacks (side to side 1st followed by front & rear), slides out when level is complete.
Slides in prior to retracting jacks.
Cheers

When using the jacks manually, always work them in pairs. One at a time is a sure way to twist the frame and perhaps pop a windshield out or crack it. Also never allow the rear jacks to lift the rear wheels off the ground, you'll lose your parking brake and the RV could roll.

The way I look at it is when you build a house you start with the foundation. Level first, slides second.

Check with Newmar if you cannot find the information in your owners manual. There are varying opinions but only one procedure as recommended by the manufacturer.

I was a level first, slides last person until recently. I have discovered that my rig does better if I put out the slides at ride height, then dump the air and level. I've had the large LR slide refuse to go out a couple times after severe levelling was required. It was in a bind. It functions perfectly at ride height, no matter how out of level we are. This is on par with what the guys with the full wall slides are now being told by Newmar.
