Which Satellite System to buy?
I am considering ordering a New Ventanna or a Dutch Star.
Need help deciding on in motion systems and dish hardware. Presently we are Dish Network customers.

you could easily do both an in-motion dome, AND a traveler.... or a Traveler, and a Portable KingTailgater2, or similar unit for those times when your 'shade' is messing with your 'satellite'!

You can't beat the RF Mogul. Better than the Traveler.

Nellybelle the choice ordering from the factory is the Winegard Travel'r or an in motion dome. You want to specify that you want the DISH model. On our coach I have the Travel'r and did a special to add a KVH RV-1 in motion. It was an upgrade and works well to record programs while we are driving. Wife has her favorites during the day and this allows us to record while driving. We use DISH Wally's as the receivers.

We have the Trav’ler & Wally receivers (love having RF remotes) for our coach with Dish Network. Have had a Trav’ler in last 2 coaches & have loved them. We also carry a Dish tailgater for those times we are blocked on roof (make sure you special in tripod hookup if you want that option). Lastly we had a in-motion on our last coach but changed it out as we found we only got reception about half the time due to trees blocked while going down interstates when heading east & south.

We have a KVH RV-1 and it produces so much heat when on. What are you doing to arrest that when you are driving?

The KVH hasn't had a heat problem. Haven't it being any worse than anything else in the AV cabinet.

Ours get so hot you can hardly touch it. Talked to factory says it is normal. Tells me to isolate it in a ventilated cabinet, is yours?

Adding the "tripod option" (external input for a portable satellite dish and matching A/B switch inside the coach) is relatively inexpensive and, IMHO, a worthwhile addition. Trying to ad the input after-the-fact is a lot more complex. We added it to our new coach that is on order.
If you do opt for a full, rooftop dish, the RF Mogul unit appears to be head-and-shoulders above the Winegard unit. To get it, however, you will have to have a third-party install it; Newmar won't. I believe all new coaches come with rooftop "satellite prep" (cables in place in a covered box), so no additional wiring should be needed.

On my first trip with the Traveler and Hopper 2 with Joey and love it! Only been out a month - but this was a change from the previous receiver 211 and a dome! Obviously the trees can come into play in some locations but I'll live with that using over the air! If you go this route be sure to go Hopper 2 as the 3 does not have a straight forward working interface!

It is very easy to use a Hopper 3 with a Winegard Travler. Between your Travler and Hopper 3, you just need to connect this switch, like this.
The Hopper 3 has 16 tuners compared to a Hopper 2's (or 1's) three tuners, plus the Hopper 3 has a much faster processor.

If you opt for a Winegard Travler (seriously, do it), then make sure they run all three Travler coax cables (A, B, C below) into your RV, like so:
You may not need all three now, but you may in the future.

I wouldn't go with the in-motion unless you are going to do recording.
The front TV won't work unless you modify the connections, due to safety. Even then, I would recommend it be used for navigation, etc, if you're going to modify it to work while driving.
If you have the Televator TV in the living area, it really should be stowed when travelling and not up. The outside TV.... well, you can't see it while driving anyway....
that would leave the bedroom TV as the only option for viewing while driving.
We stuck with the Traveler and Dish, since we have Dish in our S&B.
