The convection microwave that came with our 2016 Canyon Star is a Whirlpool model, YWMH76719CB. That model number is shown on the inside of the door. My question has to do with the hinge side of the door. There seems to be a larger gap in the door on that side versus the latch side. Just wondering if it is faulty or if it is safe to use. Maybe all of the ones of this model are built the same way. Just wish I could see another one like it.
If anyone has a similar model, could you check it and let me know if it looks the same on the hinge side.

Just checked mine, same number but CS not CB. There is a gap on the hinge side gasket does not seem to close completely if that's what your talking about.

I would call the manufacture direct on something like that.

Whirlpool had a problem with the hinge on their microwave. While in Nappannee last fall, the Newmar tech had the Whirlpool rep swap out our hinge for a re-designed stronger hinge. I just happened to see him and asked what he was doing and he explained the original hinge was not strong enough to support the large door, causing the catches and switches to malfunction.

You might call Whirlpool service and ask if your unit is affected.

Call Whirlpool about this. Stray microwaves are not a good thing. They should be able to tell you if it's wrong. Take a picture of it so you can have them see the gap.
