Whirlpool washer won’t spin

The Whirlpool washer in our 2015 DS does not go into high speed spin. No error codes, drain filter clear and all cycles work when in diagnostic mode. Anybody have any ideas?

Yeah, get a new washer. After spending hundreds on service calls, door parts, and control boards, we simply bought a new washer and relaxed.

What buttons are you enabling for the cycle? I had this happen the other night and wondered if it was my settings. If I use just normal cycle and no other options such as "extended spin" then it works fine.

We just purchased our DS and was surprised that the Whirlpool washer has the same control issues as the Providence we traded. What washer did you buy to replace the Whirlpool?

Turn it on ,pour some water in it and spin it by hand. Don’t ask me why it worked but it did.
A repairman told me it was “flooded”. I said how can it be flooded when there’s no water in it?
I don’t know? But it worked an has not happened again.

We just had a problem AGAIN with the whirlpool. 14 months old. Door switch was replaced - now I read that switch can cause it not to high spin.

I did turn off circuit breaker for a few days - when it was off, pushed the two buttons start and cancel for 30 seconds.

Seems to work fine again. I call it the “worthless Whirlpool!”

We've had this same issue, multiple times.

First time they replaced the control panel, it was obviously fried. Earlier this week we had them out again and it tested fine (problem has been intermittent). Tech thought we may be overloading it for it to work on the "normal" setting, suggested using "heavy duty" cycle when doing sheets or towels.

Personally, I think the Whirlpool appliances Newmar is installing are crap. In 5.5 years we had zero issues with the Splendide equipment in our last coach.

When our Whirlpool would not go into high speed spin it required a new circuit board. The cost of the board is about half the price of the machine. Won't spend any more money on this machine, will replace with a different brand.

I agree with DAJO, no more money on this piece of...

Wouldn't have spent money on a new control board but was able to talk Whirlpool into supplying the part, cost us $125 in service call/labor. Next total failure and it's off to a landfill.

Not very high tech, but I smacked mine twice on the board and it has worked ever since. Go figure.

I just had my main board and door lock replaced and I'm having high speed spin issues again. Cycle starts right away.

I think I may also try tapping on the board, actually double tapping it with 9mm! I have a few rounds in the clip left after the frog on the dash a few weeks ago.

Another failed Whirlpool!

Wow. Can not believe the number of people encountering this same problem along with frustrations on pin pointing the cause. Replaced the door switch, shocks, water level switch, and the motor control board. No error codes during diagnostics. Looks like the best solution is to send it to the land fill and stay away from Whirlpool products. Now to figure if I can get a new one through the door. A saws all will take care of the old one.

I just read an account of a lady who discovered a dryer sheet had gotten under the tub and was blocking the drain causing the washer not to spin. You can look through the holes in the tub about 3 inches behind the the front and see if there is something over the drain...I'll be trying this in the next few days and report back. If I can't fix this issue without a part/service call I'm changing brands.

Money Pit Whirlpool

I have now replaced multiple parts, both circuit boards, water level switch, door switch and still will not go into spin. Nothing between the drum, nothing in pump, etc. Seems to drain fine. Timer counts down to 13 minutes, then sits there for about 15 minutes cycling slow spin and drain pump on without counting down anymore and no water in drum. Eventually just shuts down. Cloths still full of water. Diagnostics goes through each step including the high spin with no errors. Time to give up and get rid of this money pit product.
