The pellet smokers are heavy. I have the 2 burners portable propane gas grill. Its enough for burgers, succulent chicken, and chops.

Fit in Gas Coach

Hello, I know this thread is a few months old but wondering if anyone has a smoker in their Gas Class A? Have a Tiffin Gas and trying to figure out which smoker would fit. Thoughts?

I have a Traeger Tailgater for home, and use one of THESE in the RV. Easy to store and cooks fantastic.

I have had the Green Mountain Daley Crockett for six or seven years and love it. It will not get hot enough for steaks but hard to beat for serious smoking. It fits in the slide-out of my Dutch Star perfectly and is fairly easy to load and unload. Hard to imagine a day camping without it. We have several Green Mountain grills and they support their products very well.
Just had to replace the 12 volt power cord on the Davy Crockett and they shipped in about three days.

Have you tried a set of grill grates?

I saw that amazon! How do you like it? What do you place it on? That units looks a lot smaller than a Davy Crockett

I actually think it's higher quality than my Traeger. It has a felt seal around the lid with two latches to keep the lid secure. It also has a sliding shield over the fire pot so you can sear meats. Closed, about the size of a small suitcase (heavy though). I set it up on a picnic table if available, or our folding Lifetime table. I caught it on sale for 189.00. Can't beat that!

We have a Traeger Scout. Smaller than the tailgater and should fit in any MH. I sell them at our store so I had the ability to try them out when we had our gasser Mountain Aire. It’s now in our Dutch Star and just barely fits under the rails on the slide out tray. If I put it in a bay without the tray it would fit perfect. You should invest in a good bag for whatever you buy to keep the smell, as wonderful as is, from permeating the cargo bays. I’m probably a little more sensitive to this than some.

I’ll have to get a big bag for the rv to keep out campfire smoke

I carry a Traeger Tailgater with me, but not in the Coach, carry it in the Tow, along with water softener.

The aroma of a good cherry wood smoker, or hickory or maple or alderwood or mesquite is a camper people magnet. Smells nothing like campfire smoke. We fire ours off and inevitably several people will stop by asking what time lunch or dinner is.
Agreed any smoke in the coach is not a welcome thing though.

We picked up one of these at the American Royal BBQ event a few months ago. It scissors between compact and stand-up modes. We've used it once so far and it worked well. Fits sideways in a bay.

I purchased a Treager for home use and a Green Mountain Davy Crockett for the coach now I wish I bought a Green Mountain for home also. I love the ability to use my phone and setup the grill to smoke for 2 hours and then cook to an internal food temperature and then set to keep warm setting. We have profiles for our favorites and have the grill with follow them without our intervention. One of our favorites is no flip hamburgers that we set to smoke for 30 minutes than cook to an internal tempo of 161 degrees.
